It’s what having our little lottie plot is all about. From day one we said we want to grow veg that you would find on our Christmas dinner plate. I have to say this year was even more successful than I’d hoped 🙂 Last year we had sprouts and a cabbage, but this year…
We weren’t very confident the carrots would grow at all, we put them in too late. To our surprise we had little sweet carrots and the bunnies had some too – including the tops 🙂Little Jassy looking rather snazzy in her christmas jumper 🙂
I’m pretty sure that parsnips aren’t supposed to look like mutant octopus aliens… however they tasted lovely and sweet, we even used our lottie honey that our bees had kindly made for us 🙂 perfecto!
I used our new hessian veg sacks that our neighbours got us for christmas. They are so thoughtful!I can’t believe it’s been a week since Christmas, it goes so fast. We had a really great time and I can’t wait till next year when hopefully we can add potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli to the list of our home grown veggies.
I hope you all had a lovely christmas, here’s to a great growing year in 2014! 🙂
