Well I have to say I was a little buzzing sewing bee on Saturday after my first class 😀 I had a brilliant time. I just love to learn new things. We’re always learning on the allotment and now I’m learning to use my little sewing machine so I can make useful things I can use on the lottie 🙂 I really want to make myself some pinnys for the summer with big pockets so I can keep my tools in there and have something lovely to wear 🙂 I’ve put some (rather ambitious) ideas on one of my pinterest boards.
I can’t wait for next weekend when we’re going to make an over the shoulder bag… it looks really complicated but I’m up for the challenge 😀
I’ll do updates as I go along 🙂 I’m really happy at the moment So many exciting and lovely things going on, and today has been sunny and the birds have been singing – fab!

Your ideas on pinterest look great and not too complicated at all. Spend plenty of time on the preparation and the sewing part will be easy.
I hope my little machine is up to the job… It’s a little bit on the small side, it might have to be upgraded when I finish the course x
I’m sure they’re telling you this but always test the stitch on a piece of your cloth first to get the tension etc. right.
Go for a mid weight if your unsure about your machine but you can always ask for a swatch of it to take home and try if unsure.
Thanks Victoria I’ll have a look at that. When we were looking at the machines our tutor said that they are usually set at the right tension from the manufacturers, I’ll play around to see what the differences look like!
Eek hope I’m not sound too bossy!
hehe no not at all 😀
How fun! Looks like you’re learning a lot. Can’t wait to see the things you make!! That little bag is so cute. PS – love the blog post title. 🙂
Hi Anna 🙂 I’m having a great time, I can’t wait for Saturday to go and learn some more. The title is courtesy of my friend 🙂 she said it to me on facebook! Very clever isn’t it 🙂
Very!! 🙂 Enjoy your class next weekend!
Thanks Anna 🙂 I can’t wait!
Fantastic! I have a seeing machine and can do quilts but anything that involves darts or zips defeats me. I need to do a class. Looks like fun and like you I would love some big pocket aprons
Ooohh quilts sound good 🙂 I imagine a nice country cottage chequered one with pretty flower patterns – very clever! When I’ve made the apron I’ll post it on here and let you know how easy it was 🙂
