Manure Monsters

After being out for a short time in the cold today, it made me think of the great time I had on Sunday morning… With my flask full of tea and my trusty fork in my hand, I made my way over to the allotment to get 6 wheelbarrow loads manure for our plot.  It was such a beautiful day, it was so spring like 🙂 Stocking Up - Lottie Land Girl

It was funny to see us all with our wheelbarrows, slip sliding through the mud! I worked out, walking backwards and forwards with my barrow full of manure, I’d walked 2 miles – Mrs.Muscles 🙂

Digging InAll the forks lined up ready to do their job 😀

More ManureWe had another delivery of manure while I was there… good thing because you have to be quick, blink and it’s all gone, taken by the manure monsters 🙂
Gift from allotment friendsIt’s time to stop and have a cup of tea.  This little choccie had been left next to my flask, my allotment pals do look after me 🙂Manure Sorted- Lottie Land GirlAll sorted, 6 wheelbarrows full and I’m done for the day 🙂

Mini Carrot HarvestTime to pick a few carrots before coming home, a little treat for me and mum’s Sunday dinner.  Really crunchy and sweet 🙂

Stinking HeleboreMy ‘Stinking’ Hellebore surprise… I didn’t expect to see any flowers coming from the leafy plant being on the plot for two years… and now, ta-dar! Pretty spring flowers 😀

Bug LaneI can’t wait for bug lane to be filled with flowers and ‘buzzin’ 🙂CornflowersSigns of the corn cockles starting to grow 🙂

I came home feeling really happy and super tired. I wish I could have spent all day on there.  It was great to see so many of my allotment friends busy working away.  I’m feeling really excited about the new growing season, I can’t wait to make a start and get tackling those pesky weeds 😀

    • It would be great if we had a fully sunny weekend – no rain! Just so we can get out there for a while 🙂 things are waking up now though it wouln’t be long before we’ll be buzzy bees again, I can’t wait now 😀

    • Hi Tracey I’m in Stockport, Hazel Grove. We’re quite lucky where we are and our site is good with drainage. I’ve got all sorts growing on Bug Lane at the moment… lavender, corncockles, pansies, hellebores, I’m going to be adding lots of different wild flowers too – but I’ve not sown them yet 🙂 I’ll look forward to seeing your bug lane 🙂
