You know that feeling when you get back from the plot, achy legs, back killing you, dirt under your nails… That was us this weekend – and it felt good. We were grafting away for 4 hours trying to get on top of the weeds (we still have a bit to go) and creating a little patio area… Now this is where I get excited π
The plan was to dig in around 150 bricks down the centre main path on our plot. Mr.B came up with a new plan. We wanted to put some sand stone slabs down so we can sit at the table and not sink into the ground (you sit there and feel yourself going – I’m never sure if it’s the wine hehe :D). From that area I wanted to have a path going down to the main brick path so the plot gets divided (not into four which would be great for crop rotation, but good enough).New plan : create the T shaped path out of sand stone, which will be so much easier than digging in a 100 an odd bricks and make a rustic looking brick patio π
I’m so chuffed with it. Mr.B worked so hard while I dug up at least a football pitches worth of grass :O it’s driving me insane, I know when I finish i’ll have to start all over again! We’re even making Jassy her own little patio area so she can chill on the summer evenings.
I keep finding myself drifting off dreaming about the time we’ll spend with our friends, having a few drinks, sitting amongst the bees and butterflies. Our lottie is our haven, our garden and our place to let our hair down. All this hard work and a preparation is well worth it.
Spring forward everyone, lots more light to get down to your plots and dig in π
Lottie Land Girl Kaz xx

Jassy loves spending time on the lottie, especially when she gets to play with Daddy π

It’s great to see Jassy running around, sniffing the bees… I have told her not to but they seem to like buzzing around her π

It’s great to have a snooze in the afternoon sun π

I love the colour of these caterpillars π
That patio looks amazing!
Thanks π he did a great job π hard work but well worth it!
I did suggest to D. that we might have a brick path. He went a little pale!
Hehe oh no! They do look really good though π
That looks rather lovely doesn’t it! Lots of hard work I bet, but so worth it for those evening drinks with friends. Your little dog is so scrummy, I love seeing your photos xx
Arh thanks π We’re really chuffed with it π I can;t wait to sit down there when the evenings are warmer, watching everything grow π All worth it π xx
It’s definitely worth the effort. What a cute patio!
Your soil looks so lush and dark! x
It’s pretty lovely π We are very lucky xx
Gorgeous photos! I seriously need to get a move on our allotment this year. All the retired fellows in the allotments around ours put us to absolute shame every year! I love the patio idea- might have to snag that one for myself. π
